2022 came to an end with a freestyle video bang! The FPT Awards submission deadline seems to have caused a bit of a production rush, meaning that December has been the month with the most quality freestyle videos released this year. In this roundup we collected all those videos for your viewing pleasure. We will see the freshly baked World Champion Adrien Bosson (Duotone/Fanatic/MUF) in action during his favorite time of the year and we will catch up with George Grisley (AV-Boards), Lina Erpenstein (Severne Windsurfing), Oda Johanne Brodholt (Severne Windsurfing) and Lisa Kloster (Sailloft) about their winter training in Brasil. The latest moves from Antoine Albert (Goya Windsurfing) and Raphael Bauer (Starboard/Severne) will be displayed, while freestyle veteran Steven Van Broeckhoven (Starboard/GUNSAILS) takes us with him to Egypt. First up is one of the most decorated freestyle windsurfers of all time: Steven Van Broeckhoven. The Belgian spent some time in Dahab, Egypt this year and Andraz Zan was there to capture it. Enjoy the masterful action, and keep a look out for a new move combination in there…
The collaborations between Steven and Andraz are always epic. This month we also looked back at one of their most successful and groundbreaking projects titled “Over the Sea”. Don’t miss our blast to the past with this paradigm shift of a windsurf video:
The clip was recorded 10 years ago in Brasil, a location that is still frequented by many riders for their winter training. In this roundup we’ve got the action clips of not one, but four riders who spent their November there! And what is even better, is that 3 of them are women who are tearing it up on the water. Check out the training recaps from Lisa Kloster, Lina Erpenstein and the recently recovered Oda Johanne:
One would almost forget that UK’s George Grisley (AV-Boards) was also there and produced a banger of a clip as well. And if you’re wondering why there is no AV-Board in this clip, it’s because his transfer is as fresh as they get. You heard it here first! We’re excited to see more epic content coming our way from him.
Not everyone had the pleasure or desire to travel to Brasil. Some riders prefer their home turf, especially when the beaches quiet down and the low pressure systems roll in. One of them is Adrien Bosson, who in an interview with us spoke about the importance of the month of November to him. He explains how it is his time to slow down after a busy season and just enjoy some pure sailing for himself on the water. It’s great to see Raphael pushing his level as always. Another freestyler who just cannot sit still is Antoine Albert. The New Caledonian spent his summer in Fuerteventura and just released his training clip from that period. Get ready to see some crazy combo’s in this one:
