Freestyle Action Round Up – September

October 6th, 2022

Autumn has started and and with it have the autumn storms. September is traditionally a month full of windsurfing around Europe, as the water is still warm and it’s often windy. Like any month, riders have been releasing windsurf video’s, either from their first stormy sessions, or as a recap of their summer. This month we will follow along with some of JP and NeilPryde’s best riders, recap the greek summer and see how windsurfing feels. Let’s get into it!

First up, let’s catch up with the JP and NeilPryde Team. Yentel Caers, Marco Lufen and Sam Esteve sailed together in Cape Town in what was captured to be an explosive display of freestyle finesse. The three left no gust untamed and shred various spots around Cape Town:

Feel dizzy yet? In the next video, Sam Esteve takes you along on a long training day. With a 360 camera strapped to him, we get to enjoy his freestyling from every angle:

We got tired from just watching it, but we’re sure the training regime is exactly what makes Sam so skilled in strong wind conditions.

Another rider who has been traning hard is Austrian Bijou Shahmirian. The 14 year old is improving quickly and released a video detailing her progress:

It seems like the Greek Islands have delivered, which we can also see in the following clip.

Dudu Levi (FutureFly/Gun Sails) spent another summer in Naxos and, as always, made sure to capture his sessions. He sailed together with Stam Promponas:

A wonderful video by the Israeli rider. Read more about it in our interview with him HERE.

Our last clip is from Mathias Genkel (Sailloft). The German put together a clip from Rugen that makes one reflect on how windsurfing feels, and why we all love it:

That’s it for this month! Join us in November for your next dose of Freestyle Windsurfing action. If you have any suggestions for videos that need to be featured, feel free to contact us!
